As Parliament returns from the Summer recess, Mid-Derbyshire MP, Jonathan Davies, whose constituency covers the west and south-west of Erewash as well as other parts of Derby and Derbyshire, has given an update on work carried out over the course of the Summer months.
Following a busy summer meeting with a range of local groups, including charities, businesses, farmers, and community leaders, a statement issued on social media said that he had heard about the urgent support needed by farmers to tackle the spread of blue-tongue, rising energy costs, and the severe impact of drought, which has resulted in many using winter fodder early.
This autumn and winter is shaping up to be a difficult period for the agricultural sector, and Mr. Davies said that he would be asking ministers as to what steps they can take to provide our farmers with much-needed breathing room.
Mr. Davies pledged to continue raising many more local issues in Westminster and to keep his constituents updated on progress.
