Ilkeston's top-rated attraction gets a mention in Parliament - Adam Thompson MP Erewash Sound
The latest cohort of PCSOs (Police Community Support Officers) has completed the first set of shifts across a range of locations in Derbyshire including in Erewash.
Some of the new recruits were tasked with going into schools and giving presentations, others have been out in their new communities building relationships during foot patrols, and many attended vulnerable people to make sure they were safe.
Two of the new PCSOs have been assigned to the Erewash area and gave their thoughts on their first week.
PCSO Hawksworth said “I’m extremely excited to be joining the Safer Neighbourhood Team in Erewash. From my previous career I have gained a large amount of experience engaging with the local community and other key stakeholders to help identify and deliver solutions to achieve common goals.
My plan is to put this experience to work in my new role and to help make Erewash a safer place for all.”
PCSO Cooper added, “I’m really excited to be joining the neighbourhood police team in Erewash, doing my bit to help keep the local area safer.
My priority is to understand the issues that matter to your wonderful community, helping to solve problems and to help as much as I can.”
