Officer headbutted during incident in Ilkeston

A man has been charged in connection with an incident in Ilkeston where a police officer became the victim of an assault.

Officers responded to a call and attended the scene in Lime Street just before 12.45am on Wednesday 8th February.

During the incident, one of the responding team was headbutted – a man was subsequently arrested.

Liam Davies, of Walnut Close in Ilkeston, has now been charged with assault of an emergency worker.

The 34-year-old has been released on bail and is due to appear at Southern Derbyshire Magistrates Court on Wednesday 22nd February.
