Post carnival travellers camp quickly dispersed

Swift action has been taken after an unauthorised encampment moved on to West Park in Long Eaton as the carnival weekend drew to a close.

Reports were made to Police on the evening of Sunday 18th June, with some callers stating that certain individuals had been causing significant disruption to the community.

In response, officers, accompanied by Erewash Neighbourhood Wardens, took action under the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act 2004 in serving a notice to leave.

The order was successfully enforced with all individuals leaving the site prior to 5pm on Monday 19th June, within 24 hours of their arrival.
