Police officers in Sandiacre have been detailing successes in reducing anti-social behaviour in two areas within the village.
In January, after reviewing calls to attend Doncaster Avenue Recreation Ground including the surrounding streets and on Station Road around the supermarket and burger restaurant regarding, an issue with youth related anti-social behaviour was identified.
From this, a project was put into place by the newly appointed Sandiacre beat officer PC Dugard who was soon joined by by a new PCSO Hawksworth as the new PCSO.
Beforehand, Police were receiving multiple calls per week at both locations regarding young people causing anti-social behaviour. Working with partner groups and shops, activity has been reduced and over a period of three weeks, there was only one call about such behaviour at both locations.
Local police officers said that patrols and interventions would continue to maintain the improvements in the area and have pledged to take positive action to resolve any offences committed.
