The HM Lord Lieutenant of Derbyshire offers special invites to Royal Foundation backed carol concert

HM Lord – Lieuteant of Derbyshire Elizabeth Fothergill CBE is staging a Carol Concert at St. Mary’s Church, Ilkeston at 1:30pm on Tuesday 9th December 2025.

Schools and voluntary organisations from the Erewash area are being invited along with some bands, choirs and soloists, and there is a rumour that Santa himself will take a day off from his busy schedule to visit on his sleigh.

This concert is one of  just 15 concerts around the country being supported by The Royal Foundation of the Prince and Princess of Wales and is set to be a joyous celebration of the festive season with traditional carols and readings along with a few little surprises and festive treats for younger members of the congregation.

The service will be themed around love, celebrating the power it has to connect us all. Attendance by those who have shown care and support or brought happiness to others is being particularly welcomed.
