Three men charged with alleged murder of Owen Fairclough in Breaston

Three men have now been charged with alleged murder after the body of a man was found in Breaston.

Police officers received a call from a member of the public at around 7:20pm on Friday 23rd June and attended the scene on a path near to Risley Lane after being informed of the discovery. 

A man was found dead by a footpath and a cordon was put into place.   He was later formally identified as 21-year-old Owen Fairclough. Family liaison officers are supporting Owen’s family.  

Jack Towell, 21, of Castle Boulevard in Nottingham, was initially charged with murder, and was remanded into custody ahead of a court appearance on Wednesday 28th June where he was remanded into custody, and was scheduled to reappear before Derby Crown Court on Friday 30th June.  

Subsequently, 21 year old Jason Hill from Derby Road, Risley and 30 year old David Oswald of Granville Square, Birmingham, have both been charged with murder.  They were both remanded into custody and were set to appear before magistrates on Thursday 29th June.

Officers have been checking local CCTV and making themselves available in the Breaston area for people to speak with.

Meanwhile, Owen's family have been paying tribute to a homely, kind person with his whole future to look forward to. In a statement, they said that “Owen was a loving young man. He loved his family and his job.  He was a homely, kind person who loved cooking. Owen had his whole future to look forward to and really wanted his own family one day. We are devastated to lose him.”
