Appeal to find man in connection with shoplifting offences

Derbyshire Police officers are appealing for information to trace a man wanted in connection with a number of shop thefts across Derbyshire, including a part of Erewash. Despite extensive enquiries, officers have been unable to locate 51-year-old Simon Spencer, who is from Nottingham but is known to travel into areas including Sawley as well as Derby and Codnor. New PC for Long Eaton SNT

Derbyshire Constabulary has announced the appointment of a new PC for the Long Eaton Safer Neighbourhood Team. PC Paul Sheldon will serve in the Long Eaton Rural District which includes Breaston, Borrowash, Draycott, Ockbrook, Risley and Stanton by Dale. Car seized in Breaston after checks showed three failures and drugs find

A recent patrol carried out by Long Eaton Safer Neighbourhood Policing Team officers led to a vehicle being seized in Breaston. Checks on Police systems showed that the Ford vehicle had no insurance, no MOT and the driver had no licence, leading to it being seized under Section 165 of the Road Traffic Act. During the incident, officers stop searched the passengers and found a small quantity of cannabis on their person for which relevant action was taken.

2026 Mayor begins year in office with free festival fundraiser weekend

Borough Council praises residents for getting on board with new recycling scheme

Food waste that has been recycled thanks to Erewash residents using dedicated new bins has topped 257 tonnes in just over a month - equivalent in weight to THIRTY-THREE double-decker buses. The borough council issued an update showing how local people have got on board with veg peelings, plate scrapings and other leftovers including tea bags being turned into biofuel and fertiliser. E-scooter seizures continue in Derbyshire

Derbyshire Police officers continue to seize illegal scooters on county roads, with 31 escooters confiscated in April - the equivalent of one taken off the streets every day.
