Latest figures reveal the number of raids have soared by 77% in the UK since the government came into power, leading to an 83% rise in arrests (July 2024 to end of December 2025). Over 17,400 raids were made to dodgy businesses - such as nail bars, car washes, barbers and takeaway shops - targeting those attempting to undercut honest workers and hide in plain sight. Long standing Erewash Ramblers Committee Member steps down

A group of walkers in Erewash is seeing 2026 in with a change to its membership after a long standing member decided to step down. Tony Beardsley was an original member of the Erewash Ramblers Committee, starting out as Programme Secretary and then becoming Chairman. Two borough sites listed as county council invests £4.5m in Derbyshire schools

Two schools in Erewash have been included in a list of schools across Derbyshire which are set to receive a share of £4.5m towards the cost of creating more space and making the learning environment better for students. Each year there are 20,000 electrical fires in UK homes. Most are caused by electrical products through misuse, unnoticed damage, and low-quality items.
