More than 1,000 e-scooters have been taken off the streets of Derbyshire since a zero-tolerance crackdown launched to address public concerns. Derbyshire Police has been trailblazing a robust ‘seize and dispose’ policy since 1st November 2024 to tackle the growing menace of illegal and dangerously ridden e-scooters on the county’s roads and in public spaces. Police officers from Long Eaton have partnered with Trading Standards officials to carry out a visit to a shop in the town. The operation on Friday 19th September came after numerous reports were received from members of the public that the shop had been selling illegal products.
