A borough bus service has been saved following the intervention of the regional Mayor, Erewash MP and two local councillors, including a former borough Mayor. Community praised for coming together to clear fallen tree in Risley

Officers from the Long Eaton Safer Neighbourhood Policing Team have thanked those who took part in a collective effort to clear a major road of a fallen tree. The incident affected Derby Road though Risley, but the matter was soon dealt with after members of the local community, a restaurant and a local landscaping company came together to get the road cleared. Regional Mayor opens £10k fund for grassroots sports organisations (Deadline: 23rd August 2026)

Grassroots organisations across Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire are being encouraged to apply for a share of £10,000 following on from Mayor Claire's Summer of Sport. Sandiacre man prosecuted for his part in reckless driving incident
