Thousands of women across Derby and Derbyshire to be offered NHS home HPV testing kits

Thousands of women across Derby and Derbyshire who have not attended cervical screening appointments will be offered a home HPV testing kit as part of a national roll-out. The NHS has started rolling out HPV self-testing kits to encourage more women to complete their potentially life-saving screening to detect human papillomavirus (HPV), which can increase the risk of cervical cancer. The family and friends of a young man who died in a collision in Draycott have paid tribute to a 'one of a kind, delightful young man.' George Barton died following a collision in Derby Road at around 8.15pm on Sunday 6th September. He was taken to hospital with serious injuries and died the following morning. Employers across Derbyshire are being encouraged to sign up for a free service that brings health checks directly into the workplace, making it easier for staff to understand their health and take action early if needed. Long Eaton Police officers have issued an appeal for information after two men became involved in a fight in the town centre.
