Suit Up, Santa! Join The Derby Santa Run and support children with serious health conditions

Ho-ho-hold onto your Santa hats! Children’s charity Over The Wall Camp is on the lookout for a jolly team of Santas to raise some festive funds at this year’s Derby Santa Run.

On Sunday 30th November, Markeaton Park will be transformed into a sea of red suits and jingling bells as adults, kids, and even dogs dash, jog, or walk their way along the 5k route. And you could join them!
Over The Wall Camp provides free residential and online camps for children, aged 8-17 years, living with long-term health conditions and disabilities, and their families.
Sophie Parkins, Senior Regional Development Manager at Over The Wall Camp, explained more. She said: “By joining The Derby Santa Run and choosing to fundraise for Over The Wall Camp, you’re helping children with long-term health conditions rediscover the fun and magic of childhood along with their families.
“Camp is such a life-changing experience for children and families. One of our campers told us, ‘I get the same feeling from Over The Wall Camp as I do on Christmas morning!’ With your help we can provide even more children with this amazing experience.
“Just £30 raised in sponsorship could help pay to transport a child to camp who otherwise wouldn’t be able to join us. £100 raised could pay for five days of activities for a child, so they can try new things, build their self-confidence, make new friends, and have fun! Simply register online and choose to support Over The Wall Camp.”
Over The Wall Camp is currently transforming its ‘forever home’ at the former Ockbrook School ready to welcome children and families from summer 2026.
The site will be the first of its kind in the UK with first-class clinical facilities and exciting recreational spaces including amphitheatre and adventure park.
The Derby Santa Run is organised by Derby & Burton Hospitals Charity. Participants can enjoy live music and festive stalls on the day. Every entry includes a free Santa suit and beard as well as a finisher’s medal.
Register today at www.thederbysantarun.co.uk at a cost of £15 per adult, £5 per children including a free Santa suit and medal for every runner. Well-behaved dogs are free to run along with you. Dog bandanas cost £3 each.
