From the 11th to the 16th August, it is Summer Festival Week in around Ilkeston, presented by the Ilkeston Community Theatre and Festival Team.

- A talk on English accents and dialects
- Lace bobbin activities
- Poetry for all
- A talk on D.H. Lawrence
- A Festival Quiz
- Circle Dancing
- Creative Writing Workshop
- 'That's Entertainment' - a musical concert
- CPR: How to save a life - a talk and demonstration
- Personal safety tips
- Eurythmy - a talk and demonstration
- A concert from The Michael House Singers
- A preview of the play 'A Stitch In Time'
- A VE/VJ Day Poetry Workshop
- A Town Hall Tour
- UkeWirks - a ukulele band in concert
- 'One Voice' concert
There is also a Town Trail to follow, which is a free-to-enter activity, with a prize for the winner. Participants will need to go around town looking to spot the Ilkeston Community Theatre and Festival logo (pictured) on an object in shop windows of listed businesses from Friday 18th July, then write down on a pre-produced form what the object is. (Request via the e-mail address shown below)
After completion the form can be submitted at Ilkeston Library or Erewash Museum or it can be e-mailed to ilkestoncommtheatreandfestival @ gmal.com before the deadline of 2:00pm on Saturday 16th August. The winner will be drawn from entries with the most correct answers. Good luck!
