Think Ocean CIC, a Derby-based not-for-profit organisation, is inviting the local community, businesses, and changemakers to a family-friendly launch event at Mercia Marina, Derby, on 26th April at 1pm, to kick off the first phase of a groundbreaking EU Horizon Mission project combining creativity, technology, and environmental action.

The event marks the unveiling of an upcycled catamaran that’s being transformed into a next-generation river-cleaning innovation to help remove pollution and restore water ecosystems.
The project aims to raise awareness and action at the local level, before the boat begins its journey to the Danube as part of a wider European initiative.
The launch event invites everyone—especially families and young people - to contribute their creativity by painting artwork and messages for our planet on the boat itself. There will also be face painting, fun educational activities, and the chance to meet some of the innovators and partners behind the mission.
Catherine Atkinson MP will be in attendance to show her support for community-driven environmental innovation and inspire local involvement.
