A fire which broke out at a pub in Ilkeston earlier today (Wednesday 19 March) saw five appliances attend to tackle the blaze.

Firefighters from Stapleford, Heanor, Ilkeston, West Bridgford, and Nottingham attended the incident at a public house on South Street.

Images shared on social media show smoke filling the town square, originating from a site near Hogarth's pub.

Four standard appliances and an aerial ladder platform were in attendance at the scene, according to the Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service control room.

The control room added that no-one had been injured. However, police were also at the scene.

A spokesperson said: "Local residents and anyone who can see or smell the smoke are asked to keep windows and doors closed."

People have also been advised to avoid the area.

All fire crews were withdrawn from the scene at 18:35, the control room said.
