A man has been charged following an alleged armed robbery in Ilkeston.

Derbyshire Police officers were called to reports of a man having threatened staff at the One Stop shop in Charlotte Street at around 6:45pm on 1st May before taking a till and running from the store.

William Zygmuntowski has since been charged with robbery and possession of a knife in public.

The 40-year-old, of no fixed abode, appeared at Southern Derbyshire Magistrates’ Court on 4th May where he was remanded to prison.
