27/02/2024: Erewash Sound presenter Richard Dawson* has completed an epic challenge of spending over 50 hours on air with a sponsored broadcast, live on air from the Duchess Theatre in Long Eaton.

12/02/2024: Concerns have been raised about a new bridge over the waterway in West Park, Long Eaton, with particular emphasis on the proposed access road to the canal.
08/02/2024: Ruth Boulton from The Environment Agency will present a slideshow on invasive species at a meeting of the Long Eaton Natural History Society on Wednesday 28th February at 7:00pm.   Invasive species are described as being of significant concern to ecosystems, driving biodiversity loss and extinction of species.  The meeting in the United Reformed Church on Midland Street in Long Eaton (NG10 1HQ) will offer a chance to learn how to identify them and mitigate their impact. 05/02/2024: An allotment holder in Long Eaton has accused the borough council of "daylight robbery" amid a wrangle over an increase in fees.
01/02/2024: Members of a chess club gather at the Erewash Indoor Bowls Club off Station Road in Long Eaton every Monday night between 6pm and 8pm. The aim is to help people to learn or improve their game of chess. With sufficient members, the hope is that competitions can then be started.  The first session is free. 31/01/2024: Some of the Erewash Sound presenters will, at the second attempt, be walking from Ilkeston to Long Eaton to raise money for your local radio station!   The team had originally planned to put their best feet forward on 23rd December, but circumstances beyond their control meant the event had to be rearranged.
