29/07/2021: In a pioneering and environmentally-friendly first for the UK, hybrid cars built in the Midlands will soon be carried to continental Europe via an eco-locomotive that runs on greener fuel made from used vegetable oil.
27/07/2021: St Mary's Church in Sawley is now open at 9am each Sunday for Holy Communion, whilst All Saints’ Church in Sawley is now open every Sunday for morning worship at 10.30am with communion on the 2nd and 4th Sunday of the month. 
27/07/2021: Keen runners and fitness fans in the borough will be pleased with the news that the dates for the Erewash Half Marathon and Erewash Triathlon 2021 have been confirmed. 
26/07/2021: A free Eco Holiday Club for children aged 7 – 11 is being held at Sawley Church on Monday 23rd and Tuesday 24th August or Wednesday 25th and Thursday 26th August. Booking is essential as spaces are limited. Learn about Nature and Creation while having fun!  Activities include nature crafts, build a birdbox, animal tracking, planting flowers, owl flying and bug hunting, meet a hedgehog and fun and games, whilst there is also a free lunch provided along with snacks.  Book places at: www.parishofsawley.org/eco-holiday-club
