Report: It was another excellent turnout despite the awful weather, which was cold, wet and windy, although the rain relented after around 1 pm when the clouds dissipated and let the sun peep through briefly before it set.

As usual, the pool payout was to the overall winner, and then to the top two weights (by default) on each side of the lake, A and B.

Fishing his first match with us, Joe Stevenson was content to draw B21.  He attacked the peg with a long pole, baited with a hard (banded) pellet (fished on the deck) to tempt several decent carp.  His 78-14 final (and winning) tally put him well clear of the field.

At the other end of the B bank, on B3, Tom Flower caught a few carp early on bomb and pellet, then enjoyed some excellent margin fishing in the latter stages to accumulate 66-11 for second place overall, which won the B bank pool.

You cannot keep Andy Findlay down, and from peg A12, another excellent display of method feeder fishing helped him put 60-15 on the scales, which was third overall and took first on the A bank, aided by the addition of 5 fish in the final 15 minutes to take him clear of fourth placed Dave Henry, who also fished the feeder for his 47-07 from peg A14.  Dave was second on the A bank.

John Brandrick on peg A20 was fifth overall with 45-01 (pole and pellet).  He started strongly, but caught very little in the second half of the match, as did sixth-placed Paul Reynolds (B12), whose 44-07 also came to long pole and hard pellet.  However, Paul took second place in the B bank pool.

Many thanks to Andy Findlay for doing the heavy lifting for the weigh-in.

NB. Nisa Opens are held most Wednesdays on Lake Two at Makins Fishery (see Facebook "Nisa - midweek open matches" to book a place).
