Craig Swinscoe and Ben Hutchinson have been announced as the new joint managers of Long Eaton United’s first team.
Expressing pleasure at making the announcement, a club statement said that the two join the club to replace Brad Munn, who departed from Grange Park by mutual consent over the weekend.
Chairman, Nick Dargan, said “Everyone at Long Eaton United would like to give a warm welcome to our new joint managers, Craig Swinscoe and Ben Hutchinson, along with their wider management team. The pair arrive after a short spell away from the touchline, having most recently been part of the management team at Ilkeston Town last season.
“As many will know, both Swinny and Hutch have been at the club before, helping to guide us to back-to-back promotions from Step 5 to Step 3 only a few years ago. We’re all excited to see the impact they can have on a talented current squad over the remainder of the season.”
The duo will take up their appointments immediately, set to take charge for the club’s next match, away at Bedworth United on Saturday 24th October.
The management duo return to Grange Park, where they were both on the coaching staff during one of the most successful periods in the club’s history. That spell saw the Blues win successive promotions and climb to Step 3 for the first time.
Swinscoe brings a wealth of non-league coaching experience. Before his time at Long Eaton United, he was part of the coaching team that led Ilkeston Town to back-to-back promotions in 2017/18 and 2018/19, and he later returned to the New Manor Ground alongside Hutchinson as part of the first-team staff.
Nottingham-born Hutchinson is a familiar face to Blues supporters, having joined the club as a player from Eastwood CFC in 2021 before moving into a first-team coaching role in 2023. Earlier in his career he made more than 100 professional appearances for clubs including Middlesbrough, Celtic, Swindon Town, Lincoln City and Mansfield Town, scoring in the Premier League for Middlesbrough and playing in the UEFA Champions League with Celtic.
