Two fire engines have escorted a bin lorry back to its Erewash depot after its load began smouldering from something in the rubbish. A rowing club that was launched 15 years ago as the only one in Erewash has thanked the borough council for backing it with a £3,438 grant amid a continuing boom in membership.
