A mad-cap three-wheel charity stunt by Erewash’s Mayor has given a second boost to the thriving local Scouts movement – hot on the heels of a council grant making a “massive difference” for hundreds of the organisation’s big-hearted and adventurous youngsters. Eurovision artwork king sets sights on Erewash

A highly acclaimed artist famed for his large-scale Merseyside mural celebrating Eurovision has been sizing up walls in Erewash – after being commissioned by the council to bring his inspirational magic to three sites in the borough. An extra £4.5million is set to be invested in Erewash, meaning a total of £6.5m will be spent to improve life for people in the borough. A new beauty spot is to be created by Erewash Borough Council on grassland it owns – with the potential for it to be turned into a wood that would be a haven for wildlife. Erewash Borough Council’s new Village Investment Fund is set to support improvements and special projects for local parishes via the Erewash Investment Fund.
