A new subscription service for residents wanting to continue getting their garden waste collected has seen thanks go out from Erewash Borough Council to all those who have been signing up.
Sat, 20/04/2024 - Bath Street/Market Place - Ilkeston
The Ilkeston Hospital League of Friends will stage their annual fundraising bed push on Saturday 20th April 2024 with teams of local businesses, hospital staff and others each taking turns to push a customised hospital bed from the bottom of Bath Street to the Market Place in slots running between 9am and 2pm.  Funds raised will go towards provision of services at Ilkeston Community Hospital for the benefit of patients and their families.  Please show your support where you can.
Fri, 12/04/2024 - Long Eaton Art Room, Lime Grove, off Derby Road (near to West Park)
Long Eaton Art Room on Derby Road (next to West Park) is playing host to a quiz night on Friday 12th April from 6pm.  Places cost £10 per person if you fill your team allocation. (5 people for £50)  The winning team will get their entry fee returned. The price includes cake and bottomless tea/coffee or squash, but participants can bring their own alcholic drinks. Hosts will be David William Sampson and Erewash Sound Breakfast Show host Paul Stacey.  Proceeds will help towards covering the costs of essential electrical updates to the Art Room building. A Royal Navy helicopter squadron and a respected former councillor are to be granted Erewash’s highest honour – the Freedom of the Borough.
Mon, 06/05/2024 - Duffield Close, Breaston
The Breaston May Day Gala will be held on Monday 6th May from 11am to 4pm.  Expect a packed day of events with lots of stalls and, weather permitting, a fly past from two Spitfires from the Lincolnshire-based Battle of Britain Memorial Flight. Donations on the gate of £1 per person please for everyone aged over 12.

Erewash Borough Council Town Halls will bring in new weekday opening hours from Monday 13th May.

A Fashion Show is to be held at All Saints' Church in Sawley on 13th April at 4:00pm in aid of The Canaan Trust Ladies House 'The Aspire' which is due to open this year. Tickets are £10 each including an afternoon tea.  These can be ordered by calling the Canaan Trust office on 0115 946 4903

Erewash residents who missed the March 31st deadline to continue getting their garden waste collected for just £20 until March 2025, still have an opportunity to do so after a decision was made by Erewash Borough Council to extend the cut-price deal into April.
