Derby & Sandiacre Canal Trust's long term aim is to restore the canal from Lock Lane, Sandiacre to Swarkestone via Derby.  The stretch of canal path from Lock Lane to Bostocks Lane has been acquired and the first stage of the restoration will be to empty the lock chamber by Lock Lane bridge.  This chamber has been used as a landfill site in the past so a contractor has been employed to undertake clearance work on behalf of the Trust during week commencing 3rd December 2018.
