The most vulnerable in our communities will be hit hardest this winter.  Energy prices are set to rise significantly (by at least £139 up to £154) this October, alongside the phasing out of the £20 uplift for those on Universal Credit, the end of the furlough scheme and higher National Insurance costs for lower paid workers.

Recycle more and recycle better is the message for the 18th annual Recycle Week which began on Monday 20 September, and Derbyshire County Council is helping to spread the word. 
Healthwatch Derbyshire are looking for feedback from people who are waiting for treatment or an appointment at a hospital.  This is potentially an issue for a lot of people. Many treatments and operations have been delayed or cancelled during the pandemic.

Two radio presenters from Erewash Sound are covering the road network to and from Devon and back to the Erewash Valley this week broadcasting live from a charity bike ride event.
Proposals for a memorial park to remember and honour local people who died from Covid-19 were given the go-ahead by Derbyshire County Council’s Cabinet members.

Derbyshire Police and Crime Commissioner Angelique Foster has welcomed the launch of a new online tool enabling people to pinpoint public spaces where they feel most at risk of crime. StreetSafe is a three-month pilot launched by the Home Office as part of the Government’s strategy to tackle violence against women and girls.
