A major A-road in Erewash has been closed for several hours after a road accident described by officials as ‘serious’ which involved three vehicles.
The incident on Saturday 7th March, was first reported to emergency services at around 11:40am, leading to the road closure between Arbour Hill and the turn for Ockbrook, which led to queuing traffic.
TrentBarton released a statement on line stating that bus services were being diverted, with delays, due to the incident near Flourish Farm, which it fully expected to remain as ongoing for some time.
A Derbyshire Fire & Rescue Service crew from Long Eaton Fire Station attended the scene as well as other emergency services but the crew is understood to have left quite soon after their arrival, after it was determined that other emergency services were in attendance and as there was no need to apply cutting equipment to any of the vehicles involved.
The A6096 connects Erewash – Ilkeston, Kirk Hallam, Dale Abbey and Ockbrook with Spondon and Derby, with branch roads connecting with Stanley and West Hallam.
Further details will be provided as more becomes known.
