Police officers in Long Eaton have issued an appeal for drivers to be mindful and keep roads and pavements clear of obstructions for everyone to access safely.
The call came after reports were received about a vehicle which was described as having been “abandoned” in Devonshire Avenue on Saturday 10th October, causing a major obstruction to the pavement.

Action was taken after the pick up truck had been left for around a week. A check showed that the MOT covering the vehicle had expired.
A statement said: “Abandoned vehicles can cause a nuisance by obstructing roads, traffic and pedestrians. The sight of a damaged or slowly rusting vehicle can also be an eyesore in your community.”
The pick-up truck was loaded on to a flat-bed lorry, removed from the scene and was understood to have been taken to a recovery pound.
Information from Derbyshire Police showed that such areas are subject to strict reclaim and disposal rules, where statutory removal and daily storage fees begin to accrue.
Unclaimed vehicles are typically held for 14 days. If not reclaimed or resolved within this period, they can be disposed of, sold, or crushed.
