Northern which runs regional rail services including through Ilkeston Railway Station, has issued a reminder to rail travellers about changes to timetables next month. The update to timetables in May forms part of the national timetable change, which takes place each May and December. Primary parents find out child’s school place for September 2026

Derbyshire County Council have made offers of infant, primary and junior school places to 10,067 children. The correspondence was sent on Thursday 16th April. Of those parents who applied for a reception place by the closing date, 93.57 per cent were offered their first preference school. Broken boiler repaired for free through Green Doctor charity

When Lynda’s boiler started to leak and malfunction, she didn’t have the money to get it serviced. The problem persisted for a year until regional charity Groundwork Five Counties helped her get a free boiler repair through Cadent. Lynda from Long Eaton is a single mother with three adult children, one who lives at home. She has arthritis in her knees, sleep apnoea, and works part-time with not much disposable income. Community groups in Erewash will soon be able to apply for a grant to boost their funds. Erewash Borough Council recognises the fantastic work done by community organisations and the difference they make to residents.
