Long Eaton Police officers have taken action after a bike was seen being ridden both anti-socially and dangerously in New Tythe Street in the town before being seized. A statement from the local safer neighbourhood team said such illegal motorised bikes are not just a nuisance when they are being ridden illegally and irresponsibly, but can cause a significant concern for residents and put pedestrians and other road users at risk. Erewash MP hails a ‘major step for forward’ in making Ilkeston Market Place safer

Erewash MP Adam Thompson has attended a meeting with Derbyshire County Council’s Highways Lead Cllr Charlotte Hill and Loraine Wilson, Samuel Wilson’s mother, and Lauren Colton, his partner. Samuel was murdered on Ilkeston market place in December 2023. Lauren and Loraine have been campaigning for years to make Ilkeston market place safer for petitions.
