New plans to demolish a derelict Derbyshire pub have been filed more than a year after the owner was ordered to secure the problem site or bulldoze it. A new play mecca for children has been officially opened by Erewash’s Deputy Mayor – after the borough council ploughed £160,000 into creating the jungle-themed fun zone. 23-year old charged following a serious assault in Cotmanhay

A 23-year old man has appeared before Southern Derbyshire Magistrates following an attack in Ilkeston on Friday 26th June. Erewash Police Officers issued an appeal for information after reports were received regarding an assault on Cotmanhay Road at around 12noon. Derbyshire Police officers are appealing for information following two robberies in Ilkeston that are believed are linked. The first incident happened when the victim was approached by a man as he walked past a block of flats in Chalons Way at about 10:05pm on Sunday 31st May.
