A £107 million investment plan to support business growth, strengthen communities and create thriving places is moving at pace after being backed by the Mayor of the East Midlands. The state of Derby’s roads “remain safe” according to council officials – that’s despite a new report showing they were falling short on pothole repair targets. New steel import tariffs must be addressed by ministers, Chamber tells MPs

East Midlands Chamber has called on the region’s MPs to lobby ministers to take action against imminent changes to steel import tariffs, that the Chamber says could add significant cost and ‘run into millions’ for some importers. Rolls-Royce has announced it has signed two trilateral agreements to accelerate the introduction of advanced nuclear technologies in the UK.
