A shoplifter has been jailed after being caught stealing from numerous shops across Derbyshire, and including in parts of Erewash. Simon Spencer’s offending spanned several months between January and June this year in which he targeted major supermarket chains. Reports of suspicious activity lead to Sandiacre ‘stash house’ being taken down

Borough Police officers have taken action in response to reports of ongoing suspicious activity at a property in Sandiacre. Response teams were sent to Longmoor Road on Saturday 6th June 2026. On entry, officers found a large quantity of cannabis along with other items consistent with drug supply. In the immediate aftermath, a statement said that the investigation was ongoing. A52 housing plans for Risley/Sandiacre

Scores of homes could soon be built alongside the M1 and A52 on the outskirts of a Derbyshire town, in the protected Green Belt. The plans, from Wheeldon Brothers, NM & DA Thorpe and NA Cotton, would involve 150 houses being built off Bostocks Lane, in Risley, next to the M1 and A52 junction for Sandiacre. Police seize vehicle in Sandiacre for potentially being involved in crime

Police officers from Long Eaton Safer Neighbourhood Team have taken action after an alert was flagged up on the Derbyshire Police ANPR (automatic numberplate recognition) system for potentially being involved in crime.
