Half-term free community fun day at Ilkeston Town FC - Paul Smithurst Erewash Sound
Sunday 1st March 2026 is Self Harm Awareness Day – an annual awareness event focused on increasing understanding of self harm and raising awareness of support services.
It aims to raise awareness, reduce stigma and encourage open conversations about self harm.
The 2026 theme of ‘Connection is coping: finding support together’ highlights that reaching out and connecting with others is powerful means of support. It promotes the message that self harm is a coping mechanism and that it can affect people of any age or background.
The day encourages people to share information, challenge myths and signpost support services to help those affected.
Organisations and communities are invited to participate and spread hope, understanding and access to help through campaigns and shared resources, particularly via social media, where we encourage the use of the following hashtags: #ConnectionIsCoping #SelfHarmAwarenessDay #SHAD2026
Self Harm Awareness Day, in support of HarmlessUK, aims to raise awareness, reduce stigma and promote help-seeking around self harm.
If you need it, support is available. Your GP, local NHS services and other organisations can all help.
