SUMMER KIDZ: Derbyshire Police Summer Child Safety resources

Derbyshire Constabulary’s summer child safety resources focus on preventing anti-social behaviour (ASB), internet safety, and pedestrian awareness.

Parents are advised to utilise the Derbyshire Constabulary Just a Second Campaign for free activity booklets, pedestrian safety advice, and family road trip activities.

To help protect children during the summer break, Derbyshire Police are highlighting three key focus areas:

Online Safety: The relaxed summer atmosphere can cause youth to lower their guard on social media and gaming platforms. Parents should continuously discuss online risks and monitor digital contacts. Daily updates and tips are posted on the Derbyshire Police Online Safety Facebook Page.

Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB): The force runs targeted summer patrols to deter problem behaviour and partners with councils and local groups to offer early intervention and positive youth activities Derbyshire’s plan to tackle problem behaviour.

Reporting Concerns: In immediate emergencies, dial 999. Non-emergency issues or welfare concerns can be reported by calling 101, or you can contact the Derbyshire County Council Child protection service directly.
