SUMMER KIDZ: Teddy Bear Picnics – weekly at Erewash Museum – July and August

Look forward to a summer packed with creativity, outdoor fun and hands‑on activities at Erewash Museum – plus the return of a beloved guest…

Sandy the Bear returns for Teddy Bear Picnics. Pay a visit with your own picnic and enjoy at the beach with garden games and nature crafts every Wednesday from 29th July to 26th August. Children are encouraged to bring their favourite soft toys along to share their snacks with.

You don’t need to book your place – just go along and enjoy your time at Erewash Museum.

Lead Member for Community Engagement, Councillor Becca Everett said: “Erewash Museum continues to be an engaging space that encourages young people to get hands on and explore lots of different hobbies and experiences. It’s a wonderful hub for community with entertainment for all ages, and I look forward to seeing the museum and its gardens filled with people enjoying summer together again.”

Erewash Museum is located near Ilkeston Market Place and welcomes 20,000 people a year. For the school holidays, it is open from 11:00am to 4:00pm on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays – and is free to visit. Refreshments are available at Dalby House Café and the new beach hut in the museum’s gardens.
