In the wake of incidents of disorder in parts of the UK in the last week, Derbyshire Constabulary has issued a statement to address feelings that may exist amongst residents of the county and sought to emphasise that the force remains alert and prepared.
The statement said that officers understand that communities may be concerned following the protests and disorder that has been seen nationally in recent days, and continued:
"Information and misinformation about where and when events are taking place, mostly pushed through anonymous social media accounts, is changing constantly and we will continue to review information to ensure that any policing response is proportionate.
"We want to reassure residents that as a force we have a policing operation in place for every eventuality and will continue to work with partners and local communities to keep our policing response under review."
