Four charged over kidnap of man in Ilkeston

Four people have been charged with the kidnap of a man in Ilkeston.

Officers made a number of arrests in relation to an incident in which a man aged in his 20s was taken away against his will in Bridge Street on Thursday 30 July.

The victim was safely located.

The four men who have since been charged with kidnap and assault ABH are Kien Rigley, 23, of Barlborough Road, Ilkeston, Kainan Wilson, 21, of Market Street, Ironville, Zabed Miah, 24, of Wilton Street, Ilkeston and Lewis Birks-Lacovitti, 24, of Rossell Drive, Stapleford, Nottinghamshire

Wilson is also charged with possession of a knife in a public place.

Miah is also facing a second charge of assault ABH relating to a separate incident on Friday 17th July.

All appeared before Southern Derbyshire Magistrates’ Court on Saturday 1st August. They were remanded into custody and were due to appear before Derby Crown Court on Friday 28th August.
