After appearing before Derby Magistrates Court, a 21 year old from Ilkeston has been remanded into custody following an incident in which a car collided with the local bowling alley.
The incident on Friday 12th June at around 5pm saw one car crash into another near to the MFA Bowling Alley on Derby Road, before crashing through a low wall then completely through the outer wall and across all lanes of the bowling alley before coming to rest in the wall at the opposite side of the venue. Three people were injured.
Callum Thompson, who comes from the town, was subsequently charged with causing serious injury by dangerous driving, criminal damage – recklessly endangering life, failing to provide a specimen for analysis and assault and appeared in Court on Monday 15th June.
An application for bail was refused. Mr. Thompson is now the subject of charges which have been sent to Derby Crown Court where he is due to appear on Monday 13th July 2026.
