Officers from the Long Eaton Safer Neighbourhood Policing Team have participated in a training session to support a new group of eager Sandiacre residents who have volunteered and formed their very own Community Speed Watch Group.
The scheme offers trained volunteers the chance to address speed concerns in their local community with the support of Derbyshire Constabulary.
The training was carried out by a member of the Casualty Reduction Enforcement Support Team (CREST). All volunteers who attended are now certified and authorised to carry out speed checks in the area.
The equipment needed was purchased with a grant applied for and obtained on behalf of the group by Cllr Wayne Major who covers Sandiacre, Ockbrook, Risley and Stanton By Dale.
