Dozens of flats have been approved on an “eyesore” derelict site which has been vacant for more than 15 years – but none will be “affordable”. Man charged with several offences after bowling alley crash

A man has been charged with several offences after a car collided with the bowling alley on Derby Road in Ilkeston on Friday 12th June. 21-year old Callum Thompson, who comes from the town, was charged with causing serious injury by dangerous driving, criminal damage - recklessly endangering life, failing to provide specimen for analysis and assault. He was due to appear before Derby Magistrates on Monday 15th June.

Joint investigation launched after Ilkeston property fire

A joint police and fire investigation into a derelict building fire on Heanor Road in Ilkeston has concluded the most probable cause to be deliberate. Investigators believe the fire most likely started when a naked flame came into contact with combustible materials.
