A new beauty spot is to be created by Erewash Borough Council on grassland it owns – with the potential for it to be turned into a wood that would be a haven for wildlife. Funding success will improve three Derbyshire libraries, two in Erewash

Three Derbyshire libraries, two in Erewash, are to benefit from a £440,000 funding boost announced on 14th April 2026.  Derbyshire County Council has welcomed the funding which will be spent on reinvigorating and enhancing its libraries in Alfreton, Ilkeston and Long Eaton. Town Hall Rich List 2026: record 4,733 council bosses received over £100,000 last year

In the wake of the largest council tax increase since 2004, the TaxPayers’ Alliance (TPA) has launched its Town Hall Rich List 2026 (THRL), the 20th edition of the project and the only comprehensive list of its kind with a council-by-council breakdown of local government executive pay deals. Police Officers issue advice to buyers and sellers after two local robberies

Derbyshire Constabulary officials have issued safety advice for anyone buying or selling items on Facebook after two reports of robberies, one in the Erewash borough. Reports were received regarding two people being threatened with knives after meeting people they had agreed to sell mobile phones to using the social media network’s Marketplace feature. The incidents occurred in Long Eaton on 8th April and Derby on 9th April when the phones were stolen after the threats and no payment was received. […]
