06/03/2024: An 11 year old boy from Erewash has amazed the stars of ITV programme This Morning as he showed off his invention of a revolutionary T-shirt – which has gone into production thanks to a borough council grant won by his dad’s business.

06/03/2024: Draycott writer, Alan Dawson, has created a free drama workshop to which he hopes he can encourage local men to attend. The workshop is focused upon a short play he is developing, Midlife: Guilty as Charged, which explores aspects of men’s mental health/ wellbeing - the writer stresses that no experience in the performing arts is necessary.  Workshops #1 and #2 are men only activities whilst a workshop / performance #3 is mixed.

05/03/2024: Derby College Group has welcomed the Lord Lieutenant of Derbyshire, Mrs Elizabeth Fothergill CBE to its Broomfield Hall site to plant a tree to commemorate the coronation of King Charles III. 
04/03/2024: Breaston Parish Council are holding their May Day Gala on Monday 6th May,11.00am to 4.00pm. There will be a range of entertainment and stalls. The cost for a stall is £30. Breaston Community Forum are holding a yard sale on Sunday 19th May.
04/03/2024: Ilkeston Methodist Church is holding a 'Beat The Freeze' Friday event on Good Friday 29th March from 10am to 12noon at the venue on Wilmot Street in Ilkeston (DE7 8BD).  Hot cross buns will be served.  There is no charge to go along and get involved.  Other free refreshments will be available.
