The hunt is on for locals to join £20m Cotmanhay board (deadline: 20th March)

A new body that is being set up to decide how up to £20million from the Government can boost one of Erewash’s areas is seeking local people to serve on it. The Pride in Place funding will be overseen by the freshly-created Cotmanhay Neighbourhood Board. Five local people are needed to help determine where the money should be spent. Regional Mayor awards £225,000 to tackle social isolation in Erewash

Social isolation is to be tackled in an Erewash community after almost £225,000 was awarded to a new scheme by the Mayor of the East Midlands. Mayor Claire Ward has awarded £224,307 to social enterprise Parkside High from her £3 million Community Development Fund. The funding will be used to develop Future Cotmanhay, to help people “connect, collaborate, and be empowered to meet economic and social challenges”. A pair of teenagers have been charged with a number of offences following the alleged assault of a teenager in Ilkeston. The force was called to reports of a teenaged boy being assaulted by two people at a property in Muskham Avenue, Cotmanhay, Ilkeston, at 8.30pm on 13th January. Two arrested after teenager assaulted at house in Cotmanhay

Local Police Officers have been called out following the receipt of reports that two people had entered a house in Muskham Avenue, Cotmanhay, armed with a knife. The incident, at around 8:30pm on 13th January led to a teenaged boy suffering a stab injury. He was taken to hospital but it is understood that he will make a full physical recovery.
