A 23-year old man has appeared before Southern Derbyshire Magistrates following an attack in Ilkeston on Friday 26th June. Erewash Police Officers issued an appeal for information after reports were received regarding an assault on Cotmanhay Road at around 12noon. On arrival, a man was found with serious injuries and was taken to hospital. Derbyshire Police originally said that a 29-year-old man and a 26-year-old woman were subsequently arrested and detained. Derbyshire Police officers are appealing for information following two robberies in Ilkeston that are believed are linked. The first incident happened when the victim was approached by a man as he walked past a block of flats in Chalons Way at about 10:05pm on Sunday 31st May. Regional Mayor awards £225,000 to tackle social isolation in Erewash

Social isolation is to be tackled in an Erewash community after almost £225,000 was awarded to a new scheme by the Mayor of the East Midlands. Mayor Claire Ward has awarded £224,307 to social enterprise Parkside High from her £3 million Community Development Fund.
