Speeding driver who killed woman in head-on crash is jailed

A speeding driver who killed a woman in a head-on collision in Borrowash has been jailed. Scott Bradley’s Vauxhall Astra was seen driving at speed and mounting the pavement just before it hit a Honda Jazz head on in Nottingham Road on 10th April 2024. Kathleen O’Neill, the driver of the Honda, suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital. The 75-year-old died almost two weeks later on 23rd April. Trams for Derby campaigners ‘left in dark’

Campaigners looking to bring a tram network across Derby claim they have been “left in the dark” over their proposals. The Light Rail Transit Association (LRTA) launched its vision to deliver a tram system for the city in April this year. The family and friends of a young man who died in a collision in Draycott have paid tribute to a 'one of a kind, delightful young man.' George Barton died following a collision in Derby Road at around 8.15pm on Sunday 6th September. He was taken to hospital with serious injuries and died the following morning. New PC for Long Eaton SNT

Derbyshire Constabulary has announced the appointment of a new PC for the Long Eaton Safer Neighbourhood Team. PC Paul Sheldon will serve in the Long Eaton Rural District which includes Breaston, Borrowash, Draycott, Ockbrook, Risley and Stanton by Dale.
