Food waste bins delivered to every household - Councillor James Dawson Erewash Sound
After receiving a number of reports from members of the public, police officers in Erewash are putting a focus on illegal parking, with particular reference being made to issues at school pick-up and drop-off times.
A statement from Ilkeston Safer Neighbourhood Team said that the school run leads to busy periods around school sites which create increased safety risks for both children and parents. It said that parking restrictions outside schools are in place to keep people safe, and added that parking inconsiderately can put others in danger and you may also risk receiving a fine.
It detailed that yellow zigzag lines with ‘School Keep Clear’ are designed to protect children by maintaining clear visibility around school entrances. Drivers must not stop, wait, or park on these markings during the restricted times.
Motorists have been asked to be mindful of other offences, such as causing an obstruction, parking on pavements, parking on junctions, or stopping on other restricted road markings.
