Erewash Police Officers focus on knife crime as part of Operation Sceptre

The week commencing 18th May 2026 has seen an intensification of Derbyshire Constabulary's knife crime initiative called 'Operation Sceptre', with a range of activities being carried out in and around Erewash. Mayor’s 3-wheel tour is boost no.2 for Scouts

A mad-cap three-wheel charity stunt by Erewash’s Mayor has given a second boost to the thriving local Scouts movement – hot on the heels of a council grant making a “massive difference” for hundreds of the organisation’s big-hearted and adventurous youngsters. Man charged after alleged armed robbery in Ilkeston

A man has been charged following an alleged armed robbery in Ilkeston. Derbyshire Police officers were called to reports of a man having threatened staff at the One Stop shop in Charlotte Street at around 6:45pm on 1st May before taking a till and running from the store. William Zygmuntowski has since been charged with robbery and possession of a knife in public. An extra £4.5million is set to be invested in Erewash, meaning a total of £6.5m will be spent to improve life for people in the borough.
