Appeal after motorcycle stolen from home before being found abandoned

Officers investigating the theft of a motorcycle in Ilkeston are appealing for the public’s help. The red Kawasaki EN500 motorcycle was stolen from a house in Park Road, at around 1am on 8th January. The bike was found later the same day dumped on the Pewitt Golf Course and has subsequently been returned to its owner. Two men have been given jail sentences for attacking a teenager on a night out who later died from his injuries in Ilkeston. Liam Derrett was enjoying an evening out with friends when he was assaulted in the Market Place in the early hours of Sunday 1st June 2025. A Derby College Group library manager has completed a master’s degree with distinction while working full-time, and has been recognised with an academic prize from the School of Information, Journalism and Communication at the University of Sheffield for her research into student wellbeing. After receiving a number of reports from members of the public, police officers in Erewash are putting a focus on illegal parking, with particular reference being made to issues at school pick-up and drop-off times.
