Derbyshire Fire & Rescue Service has marked the end of training for 11 new Firefighters who will now begin their careers at fire stations across the county. A new play mecca for children has been officially opened by Erewash’s Deputy Mayor – after the borough council ploughed £160,000 into creating the jungle-themed fun zone. Appeal issued after e-scooter is stolen during robbery in Ilkeston

Ilkeston Police officers have issued an appeal for information after a robbery in the area, in which a 15-year-old boy had an e-scooter stolen. The incident happened on Saturday 11th July at Potters Lock, just off Monks Close, where the 15-year-old and his friend were fishing in the canal. A man has been charged following an assault in Ilkeston town centre. Derbyshire Police officers were called to reports that a man had been stabbed in South Street at about 6:30pm on Friday 10th July. The victim, a 41-year-old man, was taken to hospital for treatment. Two friends are have putting their best feet forward for a 102-mile ‘mega walk’ around Derbyshire, taking in part of Erewash, to raise money for a much-loved charity that has provided “a lot of memories”.
