£2m for new playgrounds to help get kids active

A record sum of almost £2million is to be spent by Erewash council on creating new playgrounds to get children more active. The borough’s leader Cllr James Dawson said the authority’s biggest ever investment in play areas will see the construction of 12 exciting fun zones where tired existing playgrounds have been identified as needing entirely new equipment. A man has been charged in connection with two robberies in Ilkeston. Ashton Dellamonica has been charged with robbery in connection with incidents in Millership Way on 1st August and Monks Close on 11th July. He has also been charged with possession of a bladed article and possession of cannabis.
