An appeal has been issued by Erewash Police officers after a male was seen throwing kittens into the Erewash Canal, under the bridge on Derby Road in Long Eaton.
The incident was spotted at around 2:00pm on 9th March.
Although three kittens were retrieved by a member of the public and another by Police, only one Kitten has survived, and, having been treated by a vet, is expected to make a full recovery.
A note of thanks has been offered to the couple who rescued the first three kittens and took them to the vets safely.
Police Officers are looking for any information that anyone can provide about this incident.
