Long Eaton and Sawley Foodbank officials have set up a Crowdfunder to help raise much needed funds and have been able to get this match-funded, so are appealing for support to make this go even further. The name of a spectacular new bridge across the Erewash Canal has been officially unveiled ahead of its opening next month. It will be called West Park Bridge – since it connects the centre of Long Eaton to the town’s much-loved sprawling park. Erewash mill flats plan set for rejection

The planned conversion of an historic Derbyshire mill is set for rejection due to the negative impact on a neighbouring business and flats being deemed too small. Bridge Mills, which faces the Erewash Canal off Derby Road and Bridge Street in Long Eaton, is the subject of plans to convert the former facility into 80 flats. Fined HMO owner’s £1.1k bill for ignoring borough council

An Erewash Borough Council investigation into an HMO – house of multiple occupation – has seen its owner taken to court and ordered to pay £1,145 in fines and costs. The authority launched its prosecution of landlord Mahmood Rahemtulla after he ignored a request to supply documentation about tenancy agreements and rent deposits at the five-bed house in Long Eaton. Southbound closure for Tamworth Road traffic

Drivers using a busy route through one of Erewash’s towns face detours until December – as it becomes one-way while contractors crack on with giving Long Eaton a huge £10million revamp. Honouring a Long Eaton ‘celebrity’

Respects have been paid to a town stalwart as she made her final journey down Long Eaton High Street.
