A shoplifter has been jailed after being caught stealing from numerous shops across Derbyshire, and including in parts of Erewash. Simon Spencer’s offending spanned several months between January and June this year in which he targeted major supermarket chains. Two men charged over robbery in Long Eaton

Two men have been charged after a man was robbed in Long Eaton. The incident happened when a man aged in his 20s had his bag containing mobile phone, power pack and vape stolen whilst on Tamworth Road at about 10pm on Saturday 30th May. Officers from the Neighbourhood Acquisitive Crime Team (NACT) and the Long Eaton Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT) worked together to investigate the incident. Plans to turn a derelict Derbyshire police station into a Starbucks drive-through coffee shop are set for approval. Disqualified driver identified after stop check in Long Eaton

Police officers in Long Eaton have identified a motorist who was driving despite being disqualified. The stop of the Ford Mondeo on 1st June in the area, resulted in a vehicle and roadside check being carried out. Derbyshire Constabulary has announced the appointment of a new PC for the Long Eaton Safer Neighbourhood Team. PC Paul Sheldon will serve in the Long Eaton Rural District which includes Breaston, Borrowash, Draycott, Ockbrook, Risley and Stanton by Dale.
